Deactivate timezone options?

Since there appears to be bugs associated with timezones, is there a way to deactivate timezone options in user profiles, etc?

This is something that I am currently looking for a solution for.  I only have one timezone to worry about and I do not want my users to have to select this.  Is there an easy way to disable this from the registration page and default to a selected timezone?
