Hi all,

I'm having problems with the reserve.php window in IE 6 on windows xp. When I click on the a time box in the schedule from schedule.php the reservation window pops up but takes quite a while to download in ie 6/winxp. when the browser finally finishes loading the page the only thing in it is

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
<html><head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /></head>
<body></body></html>

phpscheduleit works fine in windows 2000 (ie 6), firefox and safari (though I've not tried the latter much).

Any ideas what's causing the minimalist reservation windows?

Also jscalendar/calendar-blue-custom.css makes reference to menuarrow.gif which does not exist in the source anywhere. (I downloaded the tar.gz file).

Thanks in advance,

Colm.

I'm not able to reproduce this with an XP/IE6 machine pointing to the demo site.  Can you try the same and let me know if you have the same issue?

the demo site works fine for me in xp/ie. however this is the second xp/ie box which has shown the problem for me. Can you suggest a way in which I might debug the problem?

Thanks,

I cannot really think of a reason that the app would be slower on IE on your box, but not on the demo.  The code deployed to the demo is the same that is in the downloaded package.

How many users and resources do you have on your setup?

2 resources and 2 schedules and 13 users. so it's small. The site is running on a debian/testing box. Could it be somethins in php's config which is causing the problem? Is there a way of debugging the register.php to see what php is doing? It's very weird that it's IE6/xp only. Would it (ie6) be getting cranky just because menuarrow.gif is missing? It could hardly cause the whole page to disappear?

Thanks,

Colm.

The only thing that I have seen slow down IE in the past is javascript errors.

the weird thing about this is that if i request reserve.php directly without any arguments it renders in the browser properly. with arguments and I just get a blank page :-(

Do you get any javascript errors at all in IE?

no javascript errors. though i have managed to narrow the problem down to some weird interaction between IE6/xp and our proxy. i've managed to get it working (at least the reserve.php rendered correctly) on the machine I was testing it on.

There have been reported problems with local firewalls, so you may be on the right track.
