That's not supported yet.  It is a scheduled feature for a future release, though.

Hi there,

I have a request for the Blackout Period feature.

Currently here is the issue I am running into:
1)   I pre-book numerous resources throughout our season, on different days and different timeslots.   These are for resources that are going to be used for courses, classes, etc.
2)   I try to set up a blackout period lasting, say, from 1 month ahead until the end of our season.
3)   Since I have already added future bookings in the system, the system cannot put in blackout periods... as soon as it sees a booking, the blackout period fails for the large majority of the period I want to black out.
4)  I have to go in manually and add blackout periods between the bookings.
5)   This takes several hours to do.

What would be nice to see:
Set up the blackout period so that when you set the resource you want to black out, and the timeframe, and say "go"  it will do the following:
*  attempt make a blanket blackout period from DateTime A (beginning)  to DateTime B (end)
*  recognize that there are bookings during the proposed blackout period, and give a warning to the user to the effect that "There are already bookings in your proposed blackout period.  Would you like to black out all non-booked times?"
*  if the user selects "Yes" then the system will create a blanket blackout period for the chosen time period, fill in all non-booked times with a blackout, and keep all of the original pre-bookings in place
* when the user attempts to remove a blackout period, the entire range of blacked out periods will be removed

It's possible, I'm just worried this may be a pretty intensive operation.  If I get a chance I'll look at if this is feasable.  Thanks!
