Trying to create a customer database

Hello all,
I'm attempted to create a customer database in my implementation of phpScheduleIt. I've created my tables and index and modified, what I think are the appropriate files, to make it work.
After about 10 hours of work I was able to implement a new tool called "customers". The form and all fields are there and are submittable.
However, when I fill out the form to add a new customer and submit it returns errors like I just pressed submit without typing any information.
I'm think that the code is not able to append or write to the SQL table and that's causing the issue, but I don't know enough about PHP and specifically phpScheduleIt to know how to fix my problem.
My reason for implementing phpScheduleIt was to avoid having to fork out 5-10k (which I don't have) to have someone create a service call scheduling system that I can use to schedule my customers, their services, generate receipts and take payments. I have an on-site computer repair business.
I still have a LONG way to go to make phpScheduleIt work for my purpose and getting hung up on this is very discouraging. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Without seeing any code, my best suggestion would be to use an IDE with a PHP debugger like Eclipse PDT (
http://www.zend.com/en/community/pdt
) or start adding a lot of "echo" statements to the code to trace just what is going wrong and where.

I will look into this. Thanks.
phpScheduleIt is a short distance from being what I want it to be but it's a long way for me because my lack of experience handicaps me.
Thanks for the suggestion.
