Hi ,

I'm currently working of an interface that would allow phpScheduleIt to make a reservation by selecting various items from a categorized list, and then reserving those items for various periods of time. I want to schedule the allocation of about 2000 pieces of scientific equipment that my organization lends out to school districts.

I and having a little trouble with how and where the string $machid is generated. I got that the prefix part is from the config.php file, and that the rest is a randomly generated and check value. But where and how is that trailing value produced?

Any help would be appreciated.

In lib/DBEngine.class.php there is a function called get_new_id() or something that will generate a random primary key for you.

You're welcome to donate to the project if you like.  I don't expect anything, but even a small amount is very much appreciated.
