Getting stats for a specific time period

We have been using v1.1.3 since early 2006 for boat reservations.
At the end of 2006, we generated the stats and got all the numbers for 2006.
We continued using the system through until end of 2007, and went to generate the stats again.
My questions:
1. Are the stats for everything since day 1 that the system was used? That is, would the stats be for 2006-2007 combined?
2. How can I get the status for only 2007... or for a specific time period?

The stats are cumulative, so it will include all prior years.
What you may want to try is the Search Reservations functionality, which will allow you to enter a date range. I will be fixing the statistics module in the 2.0 rewrite to allow filters.
