Hi,
Sorry I am new to this, so not sure whether this is the way to request changes to the system.

I'd like to know if there is a way where you can create a New User without navigating away from the New Reservation you are adding to the calendar?
At the moment, I find it counter intuitive to have to create New User, then add to the Reservation afterwards. At the moment, creating the Reservation happens first, then I navigate away to create a New User, then have to edit that User to add other essential info fields (as these aren't asked for in the initial creation of the user), then go back into the Reservation, and add the named User in the Participant List.

Any tips or advice on what this change would entail would be appreciated.

Thanks
Alison

Sounds like you want a custom process - which is fine, but booked won't work like you do......

So, you have to either:

1) accept the workflow as booked is designed (and you very clearly described it)

OR

2) create your own workflow, using external tools

This isn't as difficult as it sounds, though it will take some effort (all good things do!)

You'd start with your 'insertion' page - which sounds like you want to have nearly an 'all-in-one' sort of thing.  Presuming that, you could make an HTML page (using various HTML tools - my preference is Bootstrap and a couple modals) that would have YOUR 'flow' on it (enter the Reservation info first, then the User content as needed, etc.)

Once all your data was entered (as you prefer it to be), then let a back-end process do all the 'lifting' for you through the API (creating the User first, doing the updated info as needed, creating the reservation, blah, blah...... - "whatever needs to be done to make booked happy").

Fairly straightforward (at this '50,000 ft.' level!) - putting it all in place is just a matter of getting down to the details (just what you want in your workflow, what the page should look like, what buttons are needed to do what functions, etc.........) and then have someone put it all together!

How much would it cost to get this done by you TechCoder?
It's should be easy for you to  custom this... cause there's actually a link already done into manage_user page to add a new user but cannot implement easy into the reservation page
i've tried with my poor HTML knowledge lol, direct link didn't work unless you are Application Admin none of the other group give you direct
access... with popup windows as manage_user page does, without refreshing the new page created twice (authorization problem i guess)
Thank you let me know...

Using this logic, it also 'should be easy' to go into a restaurant that serves corn dogs and chicken sandwiches and ask them to exchange the hot dog for the chicken meat........

Just because you can see something on one page doesn't mean you can access it on another (and certainly not when you are talking about booked - the code is VERY seperated all over the place and quite difficult {most of the time} to do much of any 'should be easy' thing)

I'm happy to give you a quote for work, though this particular 'feature' needs more thought on just what you expect to happen - the original posting was unhappy about having to go to a different page to add users, while your post seems to be you just want the 'button' to work on a different page (and perhaps by different users? that was not clear.....)

We work from YOUR specs, so they need to be clear before we can start - after all, you don't really want to pay for some work you didn't want, right?  There are so many ways to go about things (even as you can see from these two requests for the 'same' thing), we don't start our work until we have a clear understanding of just what you expect to happen.

Get your thoughts together and follow the link in my previous post - our Help Desk is the place to get quotes, not the booked forum.
