Adding new Controls to the Add/Edit Resource Form

Hey Nick, please i was wondering how to go about adding new fields in my resource add/edit form, from the admin end. I have tried adding the form controls and they exist there. I have also added the required fields to the resources database table. But when i try to add values in the new fields/form controls, it doesn't save in the database and also doesn't pull the data when i try to edit it either. Do you have any idea what i need to do?
